Mid-March Update Time

March 15, 2018 By: Lucy18 Comments

Having paid off another debt, I am super excited to post this mid-month update.  So far for March, we have paid off a whopping $3,315.46.  For those of you who might be new readers, Hubs and I set a goal to pay off 18(K) in (20)18.  Having now already paid off $8,379.33 for the year, we are well on our way to achieving this goal.  While our numbers will most likely slow down, we will continue pushing hard.  We want this debt gone!  Below are our total numbers.

January 1, 2017     $55,749.69

January 1, 2018    $46,408.30

March 15, 2018    $38,028.97

Here is a breakdown of the total:

CC#1    $2300 (0%)

CC#2     $7000 (0%)

Auto:     $7031.40 (1.99%)

CC#3     $9747.57 (5.99%)

CC#4     $11950 (0%)

The goal for the remainder of March is to get CC#1 below $2,000.  How much more we can pay off will depend on when our state refund is received and also how much we can squeeze out of our remaining paychecks.  I’ll be doing whatever I can to earn as much as possible!  I cannot wait to get this CC paid off!

For those of you also fighting the good fight, we can do this…A Dime at a Time!

Getting our interest rates has made an enormous difference. I occasionally look back to different months from last year and can see how paying that interest hurt our progress. You aren’t far behind and my snowball is going to get smaller in the coming months. I’m just happy with how much we have accomplished thus far.

Get ‘er done!

The feeling of urgency! I know, I know.  We didn’t get ourselves into debt overnight, and we aren’t going to get out of it overnight either.  But with each passing day, I am feeling an increased sense of urgency to “Get er done!”
