Welcome!

So thrilled to have you as my first visitors!  

The past few days have certainly been busy ones.  I’m still doing some unpacking, changing a little decor, and sending out notices of my official move, but I feel I’ve made enough progress to finally invite people over!  So as not to confuse anyone just now stumbling across my blog, I moved from Blogspot to self hosting.  I also decided to change my blog name to a domain I already owned.  You can read all about that right here.  I’m feeling so good about this move and hope you like the changes too!

Funny thing about this move, but the entire time I couldn’t help but feel as though I was finally building my dream home blog!  I had purchased the domain A Dime at a Time quite some time ago but until now, the time to build never seemed just quite right.  To an extent, I felt like I needed a starter house blog first to make sure I could keep up with it.  That it what I feel The Line has been Drawn did for me.  It helped me see that I was indeed ready to share my journey.  While I enjoyed Blogspot for both being free and also extremely user friendly, after almost three months of blogging over there I felt ready to expand….and here I am!

As to exactly where A Dime at a Time will go from here, I can’t say for certain.  Much like when we moved 400+ miles away to our current home, this new blog is also a leap of faith.  In both cases, I feel it is where I need to be.  The parallel to my personal life is almost uncanny. Others thought that as a couple in our 50s we were nuts moving to such a remote setting where Mother Nature can often be anything but kind.  Wouldn’t we have been better off moving to sunny Florida, Texas or Arizona?  No doubt a similar thinking may surround this new blog.  Shouldn’t a couple our age be sharing what it is like to be financially solvent, rather than digging out of debt in our 50s?  While I most certainly wish the latter part of our journey was different, unfortunately it isn’t the case.  But, just like meeting other people my age here in my new surroundings, I also know we aren’t the only ones digging out of debt in our 50s. We are most certainly not alone, and this is what this blog is really all about.

Welcome and thank you for sharing this journey with me.  We may have started later than others, but that is not where our story needs to end.  We can (and will!) do this…A Dime at a Time!
