So far no sign of the Joneses!
Personal Finance blogging is an interesting neighborhood. Being fairly new, I’m just getting to know some of my neighbors. So far I am happy to say that I really like them all! My neighbors seem to remember exactly what it was like to be the newbie in town and have welcomed me into the community with open arms. Many of my neighbors have been around for a long time and I appreciate their words of encouragement. Some of my neighbors have super fancy homes, others have more humble abodes and yet others are simply happy to have places to visit to share tidbits of their own journeys. When it comes to going to their blogging homes for a visit, no matter what their status, I feel a true sense of caring. Despite my age and heavy bags, they keep cheering me on. My neighbors all seem to understand me, as they have at one time or another carried similar baggage.
So far this blogging neighborhood doesn’t have any Joneses, or at least none that I have yet to meet. I’ve heard rumor that a few of my neighbors used to be part of the Joneses’ family. Since joining the personal finance neighborhood, they have since parted ways. I’m pretty sure that I may be related to a few of them as I was once part of the Joneses’ family too. Moving away was one of the best decisions I have ever made!
The Personal Finance neighborhood is also very unique. Seldom do any of us actually see each other in person. Most of us simply leave notes of encouragement or words of wisdom. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoy seeing that someone has stopped by to visit. Some of my neighbors occasionally share stories of meeting other neighbors in person! How fun for them!
Yes, we are a true neighborhood. I am thankful for each and every one of you! May we continue to encourage each other through all the ups and downs of personal finance! I am happy to be part of your neighborhood!
Who are some of your favorite personal finance blogging neighbors? I would love to be introduced to them!
