Because of goals

August 10, 2017 By: Lucy6 Comments

Reminders of why I set goals.

Yesterday I made it through a long 14 hour day working as an election inspector.  Given the relatively low-key proposals on the ballot, we still had a steady stream of voters.  I was thankful because had we not, the day would have felt even longer!  Every so often I’d look at the clock and think “I’ve now worked enough hours to pay our semi-annual garbage bill or the auto tags, etc.”  When the clerk offered to let a few of us leave early, it was in knowing I was helping to jump start our sinking fund that I stayed put. I had a goal, and I was bound and determined to see it through, and I did!

Today I worked my very part time job for a few hours and then headed over to my seasonal job for yet a few more.  Work is quickly winding down for the season and with it, so are my paychecks.  While I’m a bit sad (okay, majorly sad!) to see an end to those paychecks, it isn’t the end of the world.  I’ll now have more time to focus on other things.  No time for a pity party.  We still have a lot of debt to conquer, and I intend to keep doing whatever I can to keep whittling away at it.

Tomorrow is a new day, and my plan is to focus on my business.  With all the craziness of my seasonal job, my company had taken a bit of a back seat.  I’m looking forward to devoting entire days to work on building it.  During the few spurts of downtime I had yesterday while working the elections, I started to read Business Boutique by Christy Wright.  While I can’t give a complete review as I didn’t get too far into the book, what I have read so far is excellent.  Having read less than 25 pages, it was a good reminder of just why I started my business.  I also realized that I do have a fear of taking it to the next level.  Crazy, but I felt as though she was speaking directly to me!  Something tells me that once I finish the book I will very likely have an entirely new set of goals…and I can hardly wait to get busy accomplishing them!

Time for me to continue reading!

OH, if the book talks about that, I definitely need to read it. I have a business and have it going pretty good, but always taking it to the next level is difficult. I like where I am for now – it is good with the homeschool. But when the kids are gone – I KNOW I will want to take it up a notch.

I know how you feel about now working though – during this 3 months where I have had zero work, it has been awful. I truly believe we are meant for work. It is good for everyone!

I’ve heard good things about Young Living and their products! Good luck with the business! Definitely read the book. It is very well written and ever so helpful. Plus being designed with women in mind, it is a win-win in my opinion! (Sorry guys!)

Hey Everyone.  Good news-I still have power and internet.  With this current storm, it’s hard to say how long this will last.  Figured I’d better write a financial update while I still have the chance! April has been a fantastic month for our war on our debt.  Hubs has been putting in a crazy amount […]
