Ten Miscellaneous Things about Lucy

July 29, 2018 By: Lucy7 Comments

Today’s post is brought to you thanks to a reply from a comment I made over at Sluggy’s blog, Don’t Read; This, It’s Boring.  She replied that she had not heard about me traveling the world.  With that in mind, I decided to write this “Ten miscellaneous things about Lucy” post.

  1. I have traveled the world and during my younger years, even lived Down Under (Australia) for several years.  I have also been to Europe three times.  All of my worldly travels were on my parent’s dime as  I was just a kid.  For those of you who might be wondering, no  I wasn’t a military brat!
  2. I can’t go to sleep with a closet door open.  Likely this stems from having older siblings who had unfavorable things to say about what might come out at night.  Oh, the things our siblings do to us!
  3. I avoid gluten.  A few years ago, I discovered it aggravates my RLS (restless legs syndrome).
  4. My favorite color is green.
  5. I’m terrified of bats.  Wierd, but I’ve always had a fear of one getting caught in my hair.
  6. While Hubs and I have done stupid with zeros, the one thing we never did do was buy a timeshare.  (phew!)
  7. I don’t function well in messy surroundings.  Yeah, I’m a bit of a neat freak!
  8. If I had to live in one season for the rest of my life, it would be Fall.
  9. Crowds make me extremely uncomfortable.  I guess you could say I’m a bit of a hermit.
  10. If I ever decide to start a bucket list, seeing the Grand Canyon will be near the top.

Now that you know a little more about me, how about you? What are some random things you’d like to share?

I have OCD, so TOTALLY get the neat thing!!! I am also with you on the crowds – I have severe social anxiety so I tend to be a hermit as well. I’ve never been to Europe but have been to Australia & New Zealand and would go back in a SECOND!!! Have also been to Jamaica, Guatemala & Panama. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to take a cruise to Alaska… It’s nice to know a little more about you!!!

Hey, we share some random things. I can’t sleep with the closet open, either . . . because the cats would rummage around in there and keep us up all night! My secret ambition which isn’t so secret anymore is to write a Gothic horror novel (meaning ghosts and atmosphere rather than yukky slasher stuff). And I love dark chocolate.:-)

At least you have a reasonable reason to keep your closet doors shut. Lol You are an excellent writer. I’m expecting to see your book on the New York Times bestseller list and I am NOT joking! While you love dark chocolate, I prefer white.

Gift Giving for Children and Adults

Today is my youngest Alaskan grandson’s birthday.  I usually send each grandchild (7 of them!) $25 for birthdays and Christmas.  It isn’t a large amount, but enough that they can buy themselves a little something.  Given the inflation we are experiencing, I probably should increase the amount.
