Almost

October 11, 2019 By: Lucy24 Comments

It has been quite a week.  Along with still trying to adjust to the med change for my RLS, I also came down with a nasty cold.  Since I likely caught it from the kiddo I care for, I worked through it. I was thankful that the worst of the days were the days I was off.  I’m still not 100%, but the worst of it is behind me.

Earlier this week, I made a $400 payment to our Visa, bringing the balance down to $2,500.  Today…insert drumroll…I scheduled the FINAL payment!  You read that right: $2,500 plus an extra $30 to cover any added interest charges.  The additional $30 is on account of reading the fine print, which says that balance transfers are not subject to a grace period.  By adding the extra, I will be assured of seeing a ZERO balance!  At this point, I’d rather Visa owe us a few dollars than have it the other way around.

Since the payment won’t post until next week on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday), I don’t quite feel we can do our debt-free scream just yet…but almost!

Sorry for the short post, but I’m off to see about making some money on M-Turks.  After almost 34 months of paying on our debt, I’m eager to see some of our earnings go into our savings!

Congratulation! That is amazing. Have you decided what you are going to celebrate? Putting money into an EF is going to be so exciting.

Thanks! Hubs, especially, pushed hard for us to get this done. He hasn’t been home in well over a month. 🙁 Not sure what we are going to do yet for celebrating. Likely won’t be anything huge as we are both eager to work on saving.

I’m so happy for you – if I could do a happy dance I would but as you know, that isn’t possible right now :). I’m doing a virtual happy dance in my head!!!! I’m so proud of you for persevering – you set your mind to this and did it!! We are right behind you….although we have 2 more credit cards to go once we get this one gone I’m going to do a virtual happy dance for myself as well :). YOU DID IT!!!!!

Thanks, Sue! I appreciate the virtual dance. It won’t be long before you are doing a real dance for your own accomplishment. The last debts do go faster as the snowball picks up momentum.

Thanks, Kim! But while we are now consumer debt free, we still have a mortgage to tackle.

Way to go! So excited for you. We’re still on our journey to paying off all our credit card debt and hoping to be done by the end of the year. So inspiring seeing other people succeed. Congratulations!

I was waiting to comment until you posted the screenshot of the big fat zero. I hope all is ok and things happened the way you were planning. I have been watching this week to see.

It is coming. I’ve been having some computer issues which has me a bit leary about logging on to much of anything.

“This might be too personal a question, I’m not sure but how much do you like to keep in your savings account/emergency fund? I know Dave Ramsey says $1000, but even though we have debt, that doesn’t seem like enough to me and makes me nervous.” ~  Sue Not at all too personal of a […]
